Fix Canon XC15 MXF files to Premiere Elements importing issues on Mac(macOS Sierra)

To efficiently edit and play back the source MXF file from Canon XC15 on Adobe Premiere Elements, by the way of converting MXF to MPEG-2 is an ideal solution. Here is how, read on !

The XC15 supports both CFast and SD cards like the XC10 did. 4K video records to CFast cards in an MXF wrapper at up to 305 Mbps in an H.264-based, IntraFrame, 4:2:2, 8-bit codec; while 1080p video writes to SD cards at up to 50 Mbps in an H.264-based, Long-GOP, 4:2:2, 8-bit codec, also in an MXF wrapper.

However, while playing Canon XC15 mxf in the preview window of Adobe Premiere Elements, maybe some frames are replaced by the same frame, or it drops a few frames and has some small glitches during playback. Why?

Okay, we must know that although the latest Premiere Elements added many new features, it still can't support MXF.

To fix the problem, you can change your MXF file extension to MPG. If the method doesn’t work, there is also an easy way to fix the issue. The easy option is to convert MXF to Premiere Elements supported file format like MPEG-2.
